Author Bio

Kyara Rice holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a foundation that gives her an intimate understanding of the human heart and the emotional complexities that shape our closest relationships. Her professional career as a Social Worker has deepened her ability to portray grief, identity, and the search for belonging with nuance and authenticity. These credentials inform every page of her debut novel, With You, Charleston, a romance steeped in suspense and the deeply relatable question of what it means to find home.

Kyara’s journey to writing began with a lifelong impulse to understand herself and the world around her. Once described as the “shy, quiet one,” she channeled that introspective nature into storytelling, drawn to character driven narratives that explore falling in love, navigating loss, and taking risks. With You, Charleston reflects her belief that life carries both light and darkness, with a whole lot of grey in between, and that the most powerful stories live in that complexity.

A proud native of Asheville, North Carolina, Kyara has called many places home as a military spouse. Her husband has served fifteen years of active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard, and the couple currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina, the very city that inspired her novel. When she is not writing, Kyara is raising her two young sons and daughter, finding story ideas in the beautiful chaos of everyday life. Follow Kyara Rice for updates on new releases.
